GenZ the 'LOST' generation or the most misunderstood?
Every generation carries its own label. Boomers are known for their stability. Minnenials for their hustle. And Gen z's, unfairly for being 'lost'. We are seen as generation adrift-tethered more to screens than to people. But are we really lost or just simply misunderstood.
I deny all these allegations,
● We communicate differently but we do care. We we send a simple message wrapped with memes and string of emojis it doesn't mean it lacks sincerity. It just a simple '♥️' can communicate or deliver emotions that sometimes words fail to then why not to use it? Memes are our shared jokes. We send a meme to our friend after a tough day, it is our way of communicating and expressing that 'Hey, i see you, and i care'. It doesn't mean we lack sincerity and depth.
● Our bubble is our sanctuary, not our cage. Yes, many of us prefer staying in our bubbles, headphones on, and tuning into our own Playlist that sometimes understand better then someone else. But that doesn't mean we are socially awkward, rude and detached. It's about finding comfort and a sense of self in this overwhelming world. We are the generation that grew up admist the digital explosion. If we find peace, sitting alone in a cafe with headphones on why label it as 'Anti-social'.
According to a research, GEN z's are the most lonely generation. Despite endless chats, reels and social media stories why loneliness lurks around the corner. Because we crave authentic connections but fail to do so. In a world that is derived by likes and views.
● But I feel don't be afraid to spend time alone; it okay to be by yourself sometimes.
Because sometimes it's important to find solace in solitude as, stars shine the brightest when they are solo.
Comparison isn't a new problem, with every scroll we see world full of perfection and aesthetics. This inferiority complex seeps into mind creating self- doubt. We are easily told to be ' our selves' but sometimes this real ourselves is not suitable for this fake curated world of perfection.
● But again I strongly feel, why compare your beautiful self to others. We need to understand and focus on our journey and should make it unique.
For reference, our generation relate a lot with Bunny of film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani kyuki hum bhi uske jaise hi;
Udhna chahte hai,
Dudna chahte hai,
Girna chahte hai,
Bus rukhna nhi chahte....
Like bunny, we are not lost, we just trying to find stability and create our own narratives in a world that demands us to fit in a predefined roles.

Absolutely rightly said we shouldn't compare ourselves to others
